The referee was, I must admit, utter balls. He couldn't control the men whatsoever, ignored a few offside flags and stuff that changed the course of the game and didn't give 'pool that clear penalty.

Though I can't really moan. Pool won and, in the end, that's all I really care about.

But what a finish by the Cresp. Watching ot over and over, it's clear to see whyt he's ranked as such a world class player - when many others would've panked and tried to take it around miner, he just took it. Stab, back of the net. I think I was actually considering playing Fifa instead, at that point.

Also as Vialli pointed out, when running as quick as Gerrard was the slightest clip will bring you down, if you watch it in slow motion his left ankle is clipped as he breaks through and after not giving the dead cert in the first half any other penalty decision that looked even slightly believable was always oing to be given in favour of Liverpool.

haha...

What the hell are you on about? You could quite clearly see it clipped his arm from about 3 different angles, the best being the angle which represented where the utterly toss referee was approaching from.

Right, I'm back now. So I might as well give my in depth review of what happened, in my eyes.

From when I saw AC go through, there was only ever going to be one winner for me. Milan are a team that are strong in every single department and have very few weaknesses - unlike the rather shakey Liverpool team. And when Maldini scored after 52 seconds, I knew it was going to be a long night.

I watched it at my mates (2 Yoo fans, 1 Man Blue fan) and by half time we were all down. Yeah, we may hate the dirty theiving scousers, and fear that our jeans may be nicked everytime we cross paths with one, but, by god, they're English (just), and we look out for our own. Well, almost. Resigned to seeing yet another English capitulation at the hands of European giants, we were making jokes about Miner Dudek by half time.

Smicer was on, and you were bringing Hamann on. News just in: Rafa wants AC to win.

10 minutes into the 2nd half and almost every prediction possible had been made about what could happen, just so whatever did happen, somebody could claim glory for saying it. And Gerrard scored.

Then a miracle happened. God smiled upon Liverpool. No, he did more than that - he was wearing a Liverpool shirt whilst stealing some hubcaps from cars. SMicer gets the ball. Vladimir Smicer. The least talented player I have ever seen play... scores.

Resigned to seeing a final minute struggle for a Liverpool goal, I went to the toilet. 'PENALTY!'. I think it's the only time I've ever felt happy to have streaks of pis... urine down my leg.

After that it pretty much died until the Dudek's double save. How the HELL did he manage that? I think I actually saw the whole final flash before my eyes when SHev hit that ball. Next thing I knew it was over.

But in the end, the little miner won it. That dancing was absolutely superb. He could put on a one man show, that fellow. Absolutely mint.

Stevie G's celebrations were particularly emotional - it's what I always imagined Smith would be like if he took Leeds to any kind of glory. I just hope he doesn't sell the pool out any time soon. I was so happy (me and my mates were literally jumping about and shouting for everything pro liverpool) but it was saddening. A realisation that I'll likely never see a Leeds player pick up the Champions League trophy. Kind of makes your life, feel empty, doesn't it? Almost makes me sympathise with those who swap teams every other week.

But I still think they should all be lined up and shot, as well as those that say they 'follow' football, but only know when their team is playing in a final or something, or buy and England shirt before a major tournament.

Hehe, thought that myself. I think there was contact but not enough for Gerrard to actually fall.

The handball you mean?

A: That wasn't a red card offence if he did handle it
B: You couldn't get a good enough replay angle to check 100% that it was a handball.
C: And the penalty they did get looked a bit diveish to me too.

Surely you can turn a blind eye given that Liverpool missed out on a penalty in the first half, which was even worse considering that it was a probable red card and Milan scored on the counter.

What goes around...

Both have been consistent at a World Class level all season both domestically and in europe and therefore should be given a shot for a few games, fail to see what more they have to do to be at least given a few games together as a partnership.

two best defences in the premiership...

two best players in those defences...

You have to have more than one decent season before you can establish your self on the international stage.

I dont rio could have been in the right mind mentally after the ban went into the start of the season meaning pre season training must have been affected. He'll be much better next season although i really dont think he had a porr season.

Rio's had a fantastic season?

We must be watching two completely different players then bcause he hasn't been a patch on what he was when he played for Leeds, not even close.
