A poor season??

Rio's had a fantastic season, theres no question about that he has been one of United's better players this season - you just have to look at his opta stats to see that.

Campbell has been injured - so obviously he hasnt played and John Terry has had an immense season season and deserves his place in the England team.

Carragher has had a great season therefore he will get his chance to play for England this summer with Terry and Rio not going on the England tour, so he will have his chance to impress on the international stage where he has to prove his place in the England team.

True, but two wrongs don't make a right.

If he did it was millemtres, not a 100m sprint Dudek style.

Wrong.

Well done indeed. Cheating bas'

But what sort of message that sending out to the players? Campbell has been injured nearly all season and Rio has been pretty poor up to his usual standards. They are the two outstanding English defenders this season and therefore should be given a shot in the National side. Granted England are heavily blessed in that position when you consider the likes of King and Brown being 5/6 choices when in their own right they are high quality players.

I just think based on this season both of the above deserve to be there, they have earned the right to play there, what more do you have to do to be given your chance?

I wouldn't go that far, England are well blessed in that area of the pitch with not only good to average players, but world class players. It doesn't really matter what combination they play with at the back, Rio/Campbell, Rio/Terry - it's worked.

Why break something that works?

Carragher will get a chance to impress this summer, so we'll see how he does.

Hopefully Erikson will take note and s**top all this 'big name' bull sh*t' where you seemingly get to play for England regarldess of your performances for your club.

Deserves a shot, has been awesome this season.

Terry - Carragher, bes**t two English defenders in the Premiership this season, if not the bes**t full s**top. Love to see what Erikson does with Rio 'Pay Cheque' Ferdinand.

Im surprised Carragher isn't getting much of a mention, he's been superb for Liverpool this season and he proved to be a rock in the second half yesterday.

Gotta hand it to ya, filthy scousers :D

Called you scum all season, spat at my TV when you have been on, chanted evil things about scousers sponging from society when you came up to St. James on the terraces but last night I was with you all the way.

Denied you would even qualify, then get through the group stages, then beat Leverkusen, then beat Juventus, then best Chelsea and last night was the first time I backed you lot to win, albeit 2-1 with Cisse to grab the winner off the bench, slightly wrong on that one but can't believe what an amazing second half performance it was from the lads and what is more unbelievable is that some completley retarded kn0b caps were saying before kick off they don't deserve to be there, hahahahahahahahahahah! Good one...

Hypia showed quite frankly why he is up there with the best defenders in Europe, has been absolutely magnificent throughout the whole campaign, as has Carragher. Hopefully now this will stop all the completely ridiculous speculation against Dudek leaving and more keepers coming into the club (even talk of Ricardo striking a deal at the moment from Lisbon) when it is clear to see he isn't half a bad keeper - they owe so much to him from the save off Sheve which was quite unbelievable. Can't understand why he didn't start with Hamman to free Stevie up and I'm still not convinved he would have made the change straight away if Finnan hadn't picked up a knock.

Back to hating you now though, bitter as hell that we are in the Inter-toto and that you will no doubt be given a shot at defending the trophy.

*Takes hat off*

Master tactician Benitez, magnifique!
