In snooker they just have a re-spotted black. Hardly another frame is it?

This is probably going to seem crazy, but i think we should do what they do in tennis or snooker, when it is a draw in either of them sports, they play another frame or set, so when it is a draw after 90 mins in football, they play another game?

waits for your crazy insults

No, the Spanish FA put them in it ahead of the team who finished 3rd/4th/whatever, I think.

Didn't Madrid win the Champions League but finished something like 6th in La Liga one season and weren't in the Champions League the following season?

UEFA should make an example of them, really. They should make it clear that the Champs league is a bonus and not a club's bread and butter. By not giving them a place, it'd tell teams to concentrate on their leagues rather than concentrate on a European cup comepetition.

Oh yeah, that's right. They ended up having that 'Losers lottery' thing, where a losing team got back in the competition. Dark days for the FA Cup that.

Entering in the 5th round was suggested, but in the end united didnt enter at all.

I know, it was a crude and extreme example. I was just highlighting how silly it would be to play at a lower level when you've won the right to play a higher level. Winning the Champions League isn't easy and it's the pinnacle competition in Europe.

Remember when Man Utd threatened to not play in the FA Cup because they were playing in the World Championship? The FA decided to accommodate them because they were defending champions, entering them in the 5th round instead of the 3rd, because I'm sure they felt the FA Cup would be devalued if the Champions didn't play.
