My good friend tphi recomended my our local electrical bits-&-bobs shop for a step-up or step-down converter as im pre-ordering a DS but have nothing for their lame 2-pin plugs.
The problem is the shop is out and wont have them until the end of next month! Not being really technically minded I'm not sure what the voltage is with those dodgy American plugs.
I will defiantly need one... obviously. but I dont want my house to be burnt down (or my DS to blow up). So will someone explain or give me a link to a website so I can get hold of one.
Im guessing a shaving adaptor will not work :P
Any help will be nice. cheers.
Heres a couple Lik-sang offer. I guess the 3rd down the page will do the job. They say dont get a cheapy one. This seems fine. But I want to know if you can use an SP charger first... hmmm.

I do want to wait to see if the DS will work on the Sp charger but i dont want ot risk it not working eaither. I might look on ebay and buy a cheap one of there for about a tenner.
Went into my local Maplins but they didnt have any in stock. I think the £19.99 one is fine. They have it on their site.

Then just type UK in the search bar at the very top and its the second one down.
"operate usa electrical appliances in the uk up to a maximum of 100w "
I dunno what the DS charger is.
But play-asia have exactly the right thing. It even says "for Nintendo DS" in the description.

But it looks cheap and nasty. I dont want my house to burn down.

Thats one from Ebay looks OK to me but the postage charge seems a bit high.

Those ebay ones seem fine but I would go for one with a bit of cable on it rather than just the block with pins coming out of it. I think they are best layed on the floor because of the weight.
I dont think im spending less that £15. But it would be nice to know EXACTLY what im looking for rather than just..
"Step Down Transformer 45 Watt 240V -120V"
Dont go cheap cheap. Nasty things can happen.
All i need is someone to say yes that is a good one.
Anybody know what they are on about?
