I see what you mean but the majority of people that I see wearing them do have the hoods up and it looks stupid and I do understand that it could be intimidating to some people, especially older citizens. I thinkthat having the hood up inside is a reasonable thing to ban but the tops as a whole is pointless.

I just noticed, I meant 'your', not 'you're' in my last post.

Nor do I. Even when I do wear my 'hoody', it's very rare I wear the hood up (like when it's really cold, and really windy).

But to just ban them because they have a hood on is stupid.

Is 'reffering' being used for comic effect?

Because I don't get it.

The more hats the better. Fedoras, panamas, stetsons, fezs, tam-o'-shanters, glengarrys, bolers, those ozzy things with dangling corks (keeps the flies of your chips). But you should only wear a hood if you're a monk or a practioner of the black arts.

You're question was answered though (in a way). You just assumed from my first post that I was reffering to the full coat, which looking back, is understandable. However, I was not as you now know and from following posts it should be clear that I do not wish to carry around a coat but I see no need in having a hood up indoors.

But old people wear more hats than young people. And hooded coats - even during the Summer!

I was reffering to the hood, I wasn't reffering to the entire coat.
