Got my form to fill in for accomodation for uni which is a little unnerving, its the final step in a lot of ways I suppose. Just wanted to get a bit of feedback from those of you already at a uni.

Which is the best, in your opinion, kind of room to have:

Normal/halls

Cluster blocks (6-8 rooms and shared bathroom/kitchen)

Cluster blocks with en-suite (for those scared to poo in a shared bathroom)

Off-campus house (generally cheaper I think but more travel)

Thanks a lot in advance.

It really has to be Halls for the 1st year. It puts you in close proximity to lots of other eager, frightened, arrogant, randy people of your own age. Nuff said.

Indeed, the queue for the toilet/bathroom was a nightmare and even then someone would get infront of you, if you weren't careful.

*then having to clean the seat cause there would be pisss all over it. eurgh.

Halls is the way to go if you want to make friends quickly and live close to University/town centre.

I stayed in halls in my first year and I wouldn't change that fact, the only thing I would change is that I wish I had my own toilet/bathroom because the shared ones look pretty minging in a short space of time. I say definalty go for an ensuite if you can afford it.

I then went for a shared house in my second year because I bought a car and needed parking and as you progress through the years you need your own space to do study. What you will find is that living in halls, you'll probably have many dsitractions, but that matters little in your first year.

Yeah I got some letter from them saying something along the lines of: -

"We have received your application for accomodation. Accomodation details are usually released early May/June."

That was it really.

Oh and a CDROM as well.
