But I might start avoiding KFC a little more.

I like PETA's methods, but I still don't think about becoming a vegetarian. Animal cruelty, however, is a different subject.
AND, I'm just a little too disturbed at the moment moreso about the JLo Fur Horror video there on that PETA website, as well. *tears* I thought they had hunting seasons that regulated all of that? And, what country are they in??? It sounded to me like China or one of those other third-world countries that have total disregard for animal welfare because their populations are so vast. Ugh..they were slaughtering those poor animals in the street! That's just purely inhumane. Savages.
I don't think it's fair that they associated those acts with JLo. She didn't kill those animals like that. Maybe she actually bought those fur coats from credible sources that certify being civil to dead animals when they skinned them? Psh. I just wanna know why people aren't so up in arms about sheep rugs (Flokati) from Greece. The sheep are nice..and they get eaten too. What about the monkey's that get their skulls smashed in a vice at the dinner table as a delicacy in Morroco..?
Overall, I just have to say that KFC is way to expensive for their crappy chicken and I think I boycotted them a few years ago for this anyways. I'd much rather prefer going to Popeye's. But now, I wonder what Popeye's does with their chickens... Hmm.
This entire "eating out" thing has dropped to a severe low-level for me as of late, anyways. Especially with that man last week coming forward with his story about finding a peice of sliced thumb in his sandwich. *hurls* I forget which restaurant it was..but hell, even I suffer for damages just hearing of it.
Wow..I guess that's all I have to say. Heh.

I think you're missing the point somewhat.. I think it's more about giving them a decent enough life? Innocent whatever, if the death is quick, painless, then why does it matter?
Which would you prefer? Live your life out, get married, have children, explore, learn, then go to sleep one night and not wake up, then get eaten by me.. or would you rather I kicked you around, slammed you into walls and cut your nose off, THEN kill you slowly and eat you?
Being humane isn't about just not killing things, it's about doing it honourably and within reasons of, and I would like to believe, survival. If we can give something a good a life as it's likely to get, why not? Chickens aren't exactly creatures of the wild, but they can still be allowed to get fat on their own accord. We're predators, they're prey, simple as that. I think as a race, to generalise, we seem to have become lazier, no longer the hunters we once were, perhaps. Not that hunting chickens is a wild challenge, but still, it's just now a spoonfed lazy society.
And if you want to eat 'naughty' chickens or ones that aren't so innocent, don't you find that 'ironic' that you're willing to pass judgement on the 'innocence' of chickens because we're going to eat them... um, that's not exactly how nature really intends. As I said, this isn't about not eating meat [which is why I disagree with PETA], I'm going to eat meat no matter what, but I'd like to make sure it's not handled in such a terrible way. I'm failing to see the irony in killing an innocent being with the intention of eating them. I need to survive and you are walking food. Have a nice life and I'll kill you when I'm ready. Or at least, visit the butcher. Being a half-assed predator and respecting your prey isn't really irony.
*plugs fingers in ears*
LA LA LA LA LA
The entire vid can be wrapped up with the message,
"Sure we can kill 'em... but does it have to be so mean?"
And therein lies the irony. I would have thought the killing an innocent would have been the greater crime... but hey, as long as we do it nicely, it's OK.
"Chickens are inquisitive, gentle animals who are known to be as intelligent as dogs and cats."
Genius. Show us how bizarre the modern human mindset really is.
