Asher tried to do this a while ago and it clearly rocked ass, i thought it was a good idea so i'm going to try and revive it.
I want a group of people who can recommend one track a day which hopefully people will listen to and pass judgement on. The idea is just to introduce people to new music.
I'm planning on starting Monday with one track for each day of the week and i'll revolve the days around the people involved.

Thats exactly what it strikes me as. Anyway, I'm going to give it another try now.

Do you think this is their best song, Rickoss?
Never listened to any of their music before and wasn't particularly a fan of Life Ain't What It Seems, it's very pretty but would just be more like background music. But it seems like their other stuff could be pretty great, so are there any others you'd recommend?

Edit: S'ok. Only just read other replies.

Yeah, I was gonna recommend "Take" because they do a fantastic live version of it, but it's about 20 minutes long. Excellent drumming and I love the chorus.

What You Want's also one of my favourites, Zebra's nice and poppy, probably would have been the best for somethign like this.

I hope my song gets a better reception than this! It would be good to use in a film, I guess.

I really like the John Butler Trio. Saw them at Isle of Wight in 2003, saw them again in Brixton last Wednesday. Never been a fan of the album stuff though - the beauty of it is how into it they are live. That said, there is some very good studio stuff. If you liked this one, head over to www.archive.org and have a search, 50 odd live shows availiable to download. And in terms of studio stuff, try and get hold of the track 'What You Want' from the latest album.

This particuler song: terrible chorus. Nice enough verses. Cool slowed down bit at about 5 mins with nice bass sound. The little solo bit after that is nice and slidey. Cello at end is the best part of the song I reckon. If you dig that then definately download the aforementioned 'What You Want', that's cello led. Might suit the end of a record, but the chorus is just far too happy. Feel like I've heard it a million times before.

The Gorrillaz one. Don't like the backing bit at all. Nice sound effect on the vocals, nice melody. That backing is bloody terrible though. Might grow on me, previous Gorrilaz record did.

I'm interested in this, so if I could have a turn at choosing a song that would be nice.

Hey, if the cello makes you lose control in that sort of way then more power to you.
