i am and have been for a long time been waiting for half life 2 to come out. i have seen dvd-rom versions of the game but not seen a cd-rom version. As i have only a cd-drive and cd-rewriter i need cd-roms. What will also be included in the different packages with half life 2?

If you don't have a DVD drive, buy one or download HL2 via Steam.

Doesn't a CD-RW read DVD's though? (nevermind they don't)

Heh I just checked my CD-RW diag and nope it doesn't BUT I was reading on Gamecentral teletext that you can make a backup CD copy of HL2 somehow but you need to be online with steam to play it.

I've heard there will be a cd version, coming on 6 disks.

DVD drives are pretty cheap now, you know.

£16 for an OEM x16 sony last time I looked...

You need to register the cd key with steam as a oneoff installation requirement. You don't need to be online to play the single player story.

Any idea how big the download/internet connection thing is gonna be?
I'm on a 56k and don't fancy having to wait 5hrs for something before playing
