I shan't be wasting any of my time voting this year, much like last general election.
And these patronising conservative billboards with handwritten 'make sense' slogans just serve to illustrate how fickle our leaders are.
Now, if a party pledged to give me back the 15 grand I forked out for my sub-standard higher education, I might be tempted to draw an 'X' in their box.
Politics in Britain is like a happy-medium now. There's no more ideology, hung parliaments, strikes etc. The economy is growing, we're not going cap in hand to the IMF for money or whatever.
Put all the MPs in a room... same views, same suits.
" I think we should have 0.1% rise in that area, cut that out there ".
Either, people can't be bothered voting as anybody that wins should provide the same. Or people just aren't interesed in the system... maybe people do want more... ah screw it.
However, as we constantly elect charlatans who's twin goals are enrichment and power, and who's interest it is in to keep the masses dumb...well, we're not gonna see any moves from the government to make any changes.
They have a say... they just don't care.
Instead of millions of working classes down 'ti' mines, trade unions, socialist movements yadda yadda.
Now 'the masses' have a much broader spectrum in society. You could even argue that middle class, 2.4 children are 'the masses'.
I don't know enough about it.
Got to study anyway, sssssh.
it's all the same in the end
> People are stupid though.
> You could end up with those 40% lazy, inbred oinks voting BNP.
I subscribe to Orwell's idea; if the masses are uneducated, then that is no reason to deny them their say. One must endeavour to educate those masses.
You could end up with those 40% lazy, inbred oinks voting BNP.

And if they don't like any of the parties? Turn up and spoil the ballot paper. Less than 60% of the voting population bothered to walk a few yards to scrawl X last time round. If 40%+ of the population made the effort to spoil their paper, the political parties would collectively fill their pants. And maybe, just maybe, we'd get something resembling a representative government...
