No... really. Seriously. Stop laughing.

I know I've been a main culprit of this, and I really shouldn't be the one to speak, but this is getting out of hand. Some intelligent newbies have been appearing over the past month, and they are still being treated like cheatguru. I've got nothing against people taking the mick out of people like that, I mean they're disabled, and can't fight back, but this is silly. These newbies really ARE human, and it's not nice.

I disagree, that would create an elitist atmosphere and one that I would not like to be a part of.

The net is all about freedom of speech etc etc, and when people trip up, they know about it (ask Guru).
I think people learn to moderate and judge themselves, simply because of the response they recieve from everyone else.

I think we all need to remember we started somewher.

I've found this anti-newbie stuff to be daunting once more, starting to play Counterstrike.
You get verbally abused, taunted, mocked and deliberately flamed for asking perhaps obvious questions to those that are aware of "how things are".

But, at the same time, you have to put up with it and fight back.
I started on the FOG posting utter crap about the PS2 being rubbish as a domestic appliance.
And pretty much carried on from there.
I am capable of the odd serious post, but more often that not it's just drivel - always with a punchline or comment though.

The newbies on here get treated better than most, ask Turbo, Bonus, Big Sally (that name is conjuring all sorts of thing in my mind, but that's me)
The only newbie to get seriously attacked was Cheat Guru, and for damned good reason.

But we've laid off him since he's been trying.
It's not the spelling/grammar so much as people just posting utter nonsense about "I fink the PS2 is rubbish, HA!".

That helps nobody at all and gives newbies here a pause before posting in case they suffer the same treatment.

Just think of this place as hanging out with mates, you wouldnt talk to them like some people post here, common sense really.

Well on the topic of newbies, I do feel ones like Bonus are a great asset to the forums, he had a great point of view on every topic, he didn't spam and hardly put a foot wrong, other newbies have been more annoying but with the new rules hopefully we will see a reduction in the amount of bad posting in the FOG.

I am not overly worried about becoming a regular. Of course, it will be good when I have that honour.
But, if you make up several pointless topics and posts just to get to regular, people will remember you (it seems that people in these forums never forget a name), so when you do become a regular, you will carry on getting picked on.
