Also include the genre. I hate to sound close minded, but the thrash metal track you lick windows to may not be to everyones taste. Maybe a comment.
I'm just blatantly trying to usurp Grix's long running thread. :D
*Fires up Limewire in anticipation*
I'll get us started :
'Five' by Lamb - Ambient Breakbeat/Trip Hop Instrumental
(AKA Ray Mears theme tune - Beautiful relaxing track)

He is, there was a programme on him only a couple of nights ago. He's an odd one really, i can read his lyrics and know theyre great but hearing them performed kills them as far as i'm concerned, Hallelujah exempt from that i'm still not sure which version i prefer. Lyrically it's such a perfect song you always get the feeling someone can come along and do a better version because of it's potential.

He did a cover which is uncomparable. Not in quality, mind. I think, on the whole, I'd rather listen to Rufus' version, but I feel that Buckley managed to make it much more of a love song, and give it that feeling of him just breaking up with someone. Rufus's version make you feel happy, almost.

Heheh. Nah, he's not as good. And that cover of Hallelujah... leave it at the perfection that Jeff Buckley left it at with his version. The thing about Wainwright's version is that it's always going to be compared to the Buckley version, and it's always going to come off worse (forget Leonard Cohen, he may have written it, but it's no longer his song).

You know i agree with you on that as we were talking about it only a little while ago, i'm lacking money to buy at the moment and there isn't a definitive album as far as i can see.

But Rufus is basically a gay Ryan Adams. That means you should love him that little bit more...

Indeed. Gold, Heartbreaker and Demolition. All fantastic albums.
