Suggest One Track for me, and the rest of the dwellers of this place to listen to. Quality ones obviously.

Also include the genre. I hate to sound close minded, but the thrash metal track you lick windows to may not be to everyones taste. Maybe a comment.
I'm just blatantly trying to usurp Grix's long running thread. :D

*Fires up Limewire in anticipation*

I'll get us started :

'Five' by Lamb - Ambient Breakbeat/Trip Hop Instrumental
(AKA Ray Mears theme tune - Beautiful relaxing track)

I'm a biiiig Neil Young fan (you might've guessed from my tagline). I think he's a fantastic songwriter.

Only ever heard one of their songs - Girls and that was good. Think it was on Lost In Translation too. Sounds very much like Sigur Ros music. Will look into them too.

Nope, I'm the same, I think he's massively massively over-rated. Not bad, just over-rated.

Not got that yet... Tomorrow Tomorrow is probably my favourite track so far, but I really do need to investigate more.

I'm listening to Death In Vegas - Help Yourself a lot recently, almost constantly.

Natural Beauty is great. About 9 minutes long, but never seem to get tired of it. Verr nice as is his Harvest Moon album. And the lyrics are fantabulous too..

I know nothing of Elliot Smith yet and i prefer Nick Drake to Simon and Garfunkle. Neil Young i've not really spent enought time on, on first listen his vioce irritates me but i had that with Dylan as well.
Don't you criticise Don McLean either, he's magnificent.
If you heard Hazey Jane II without knowing anything about Nick Drake you wouldn not class it as acoustic, it has horns, drums and i may have heard a piano in there as well, that is not acoustic in any traditional sense.

I know all 3, can't stand any of them.
I thought it was "Wonderful Tonight" as well. That song makes me angry!

Don Maclean and Simon & Garfunkel are nothing compared to Darke and Elliott Smith. And I can't believe we haven't mentioned Neil Young yet. Less folky, more aggressive, but still brilliant acoustic music.
