Anyway, what good (AND QUIET!!) ways are there of cooling this thing further? It's so 'ing noisy it's doing my head in, I can't play music quietly as I can't hear it over the fan sometimes!
I sooooo want to get a desktop.
It was a good team effort.
Go team!

Yes, I was more bowing at you than taking a bow myself.

All I did was to take out the heatsink, remove the huge amount of dust that had created the 'power-filter' and screw it back in again. It's working fine now.

The only thing that the heatsink is connected to is the CPU, I haven't opened the HD panel, but I'm guessing there won't be anything in there cooling wise, I think the HD is just left to itself. It's only at 49 deg at the moment though, it has been idling for aaages but it will never be as bad as it was.
The CPU is under 60 deg though, which is slightly better! The laptop now sits silent with the fan coming on and off for about 30 seconds every few mins. It's a hell of a lot quieter than it used to be!

I might get Half Life 2 now, seeing how the graphics card isn't dying anymore!

The fan comes on for 30 seconds and goes off for another few minutes, it's also super quiet!
Then again, I think anything would be noisy if it was being power filtered through that! It's a few dog hairs that have got stuck, the dog hairs have gathered dust, and it's created a lovely filter!
Processor is running at 51 deg now, HD is running at 42! Woooooo!
Thank God I can get at it tomorrow!
