Not alot.
How many people who had never heard of Greenday before it was released, and now who DOESN'T know who they are?
> And that 'arty' part of American Idiot?
i assume you mean "what 'arty' part"? :)
there's songs that are broken into different segments, almost like movements and the feel of it is quite different. it's definitely got more of a concept album thing going on than their other albums.
> It's real name is the 'selling out' part of it.
it's in no way selling out. selling out would be to produce an 11-track disc of upbeat pop songs about their ex girlfriends with a sleeve that features the band wearing iron maiden shirts and a pair of fat DC's. it's experimental for sure, but i fail to see how something is "selling out" when a lot of people DIDN'T like it, surely selling out is to pander to the masses?
> Still, each to their own.
exactly. now all we need is everyone else to realise this....
Still, each to their own.

I liked Warning. It wasn't massively different though. Whereas American Idiot was.
And that 'arty' part of American Idiot?
It's real name is the 'selling out' part of it.
All the old GD albums are good, by the way, Nimrod being the last good one.
The comment about all Greenday's albums being good is just completely moronic.
Seriously.
Christ, get some taste and listen to some good music ffs that isn't faux-emotive crap that's trying to make a statement and appeal to the masses of teens that jump on the no bombs anti-Bush bandwagon.
