Haven't heard any albums of them, starting to get into them. Can anyone recommend some decent tracks off various albums. Danke

No, I don't think you don't need the album. It's not as if Green Day are doing anything drastically different. They're not trying to win any new fans. It's another Dookie, basically, with change of emphasis. The songs still sound like Green Day always did. Even the "rock operas" are just mini-Green Day songs tied together. And they're good.

Emitime should just go and lock himself up in his room and play Time Of Your Time to himself while looking whistfully at a McFly poster.

I wouldn't define it as a sell-out, but I think you need to have the album to actually understand that, as it's a completely different prospect in the album to just listening to the singles.

Define for me how exactly it's a sellout.

oh cos people like it is not an answer. That's just a music-snob's answer. And Green Day were popular before American Idiot, so it's an answer of some little kid who WANTS to be a music snob but doesn't actually like indie music.

American Idiot isn't a sell out. That's the biggest bunch of balls I've heard on this forum. It's just a progression. Are you not reading anything Very_Metal has had to say, or are you just fake-frothing at the mouth at evil evil Greenday for having a popular album before slyly putting Holiday on repeat?

Decent Green Day songs...

Go for Letterbomb, American Idiot, Holiday, Burnout and Boulevard of Broken Dreams.

How is American Idiot LESS radio-friendly?

And I think I love golden_touch_girl's taste in music
