Remember a while back we offered an EXTRA GAMEADAY prize for promotional suggestions. Anyone who suggested an idea which we actually use within three months wins a prize.

Monkey_with_Attitude has already been given one prize for his suggestion of community spirit in e-mails.

There are now three further prizes in this competition.

1. Monkey_with_Attitude
E-mail a friend links in discussions etc.

2. Fantasy Meister
Gameaday leaflets or stickers on products we sell, especially in the shops.

3. Monkey_with_Attitude
Prompt people to bookmark or place our sites on home pages.

By the way - It's no good searching for the promotional thread. We deleted it so that our competitors can't get their sweaty mits on it.

There may of course still be other winners to this as every suggestion which is used within three months will win a prize.

I'll give that 9 out of 10 and consider it. It might not be a traditional hit counter though. And we might lie.

At the moment there are probably about 300 people on the site. Probably about 150,000 of them over the period of a month. I worked that out from our page impressions which are a tad under 3 million per month.

S'true.

This is not a bad idea, occasionally suggested in the past. The thing is, e-mail costs money. If we give you an address then we have to pay for it. Then our customers have to pay us more for the games they buy so that you can have an e-mail address.

So it's tricky you see.

I think you should have a hit counter showing how many peolpe have visited the site, so it may reassure new users that they are not the only on here, or a "how many peolpe are on this site at the momet" counter.
I hope my opinion has been some use to you.
Thanks

Tony what do you think of this idea, it would be a lot easier and less time consuming

There is a closing time, of sorts.

Midnight.

It's fairer to everyone if all the day's posts are accepted for Gameaday. Back in the old days we had a 6pm (or around that) cut off point and the winner was chosen that day.

Wasn't very good for those people that could only go on the net after 6pm, was it?

Damn, that seems like a long time ago now...

This is not an extra GD topic.

Scroll down the topics in the Future of Gaming (Chatter) forum until you get to one which says EXTRA GAMEADAY PRIZE in it.

There are two current one's running in chatter, and I think one is running in this forum.

I think that SR have done a real good job. i mean thet're giving away free game for pete's sake. Makin the competition easier would result in them giving aall they're games away and not having any more. Quality work. On the other hand, I spent over 2 hours on a real good Jet Force Gemini review. It has everthing and tells you everything. Did you read it, SR?

I propose that you set a closing entry time for the day. At that time you select the winner. Earlier, I read that a guy couldn't get on to his internet and when he did a winner had been chosen which meant that he missed a chance. I have seen some real good quality thinkin in this page and most of them haven't won? Don't take me rude or anything but why?

Make the competitions a bit more fair? You mean let people win for posts that are worse than the best post of the day?

I think the system works at the moment, doesn't matter if you're a newbie, regular or sky high notable, the best post wins (subject to Ali and Joe's whims and personal opinions of course)

Plus there are lots of extra chances for other people to win, through Tony's tax dodg...er...I mean Tony's kindness of letting everyone try for extra gameadays AND rewarding some good thinking.

My opinion, of course...
