This is the part where I beg for help.

I rarely ask for help from you gaylords, because the truth is, the majority of you are idiots.
Anyway, that's the flattery out of the way...

Physics - the subject of joy. I'm stuck on this question.

It's worth 3 marks. Anyway;

"The resistance of a length of bare uniform resistance wire is 30 ohms. The length of wire is folded into the shape of a square and the ends soldered together as shown below

(a picture of a square with an ohmmeter connected to it) - http://firestorm.staghosting.com/image.jpg

What value of resistance would the ohmmeter read if it is connected as shown at the mid-points of opposite sides to the square?
(You may ignore the resistance of the ohmmeter leads)"
***

Cheers for any help people - I'm honestly at a loss.
And merm, if you claim it's 600 joules, I will hit you.

We don't have to argue, we just know it.

Also, I must remember the day that Azul said: "Hey Guys"

Whether you wanted something or not it still hilarifies me.

Funny - I originally said "I went for Biggles and Sheepy because everyone knows the Scots are the most intelligent".

But then;

a) I remembered that I'm Scottish and that I didn't know
b) I couldn't be bothered to go through the long process/argument which would inevitably lead to us winning anyway
c) It would be UNFAIR to those who tried.

Moral of the story: stick with the Scots.

At the end of the day, I went for this, because Biggles flies planes.

And it was spot on.
Excellent.

I just knew simply saying that "yeah, it'll stay 30 and stuff" wasn't worth 3 marks.
Whenever there's 3 marks, it practically always means calculations of some sort are needed.

Cheers.

I think the ohmmeter provides any voltage needed.

R = V x I
There is no resistance as there is no voltage and no current.

The answer you're looking for should be "As R = V x I, There is infinate resistance because there is no power supply so provide volts or current."

Yup, the wire always has a measureable resistance

Over the years I've become very jaded after many bad experiences with customer services, you have bucked the trend. Polite and efficient from the Freeola team, well done to all involved.
