Should have a brand spanking new PC sitting here next week, and I've just decided I'm going to change my ways having read an article on Firefox being greater then IE.

So with a new PC comes along new ways. You see, on this PC I'll automatically open up Internet Explorer without a thought for the Internet. But when the new PC comes along I hope to break that habit.

So with that, I was thinking, what other programs are there that I SHOULD be using? Or just programs that are essential to have and you always find yourself using?

Hit me.

Open Firefox and on the address bar write about:config and hit enter
find the string
network.http.pipelining
double click and change the value to true
find the string
network.http.pipelining.maxrequests
double click and change the value to 34
find the string
browser.turbo.enabled
double click and change the value to true

close and restart and see the new amazingly new speed of firefox...

To reset settings,
Right click on the setting you want to reset, the click on reset in the context menu.

Well, for starters it's more standards compliant - helping the web push forward, if you know what I mean. (If you don't, get Zeldman's "Designing With Web Standards" at Amazon.co.uk or wherever you buy books.)

For second, the interface is nicer.

It has less issues, and doesn't screw up as much.

It's no microsoft.

It's skinable.

It has plugins.

It's free!

It's cooler. Nyah.

Whats the advantages of Firefox?

I've used it for a while but recently switched back to IE. Firefox was giving me a slight delay in page loading and also slower image loading on web pages.

MMJB is the same. If you chose to buy the deluxe version, you get an amazing set of extra options and tools and stuff.

RealPlayer is just spyware covered in pop ups and ads, masquerading as a multimedia centre.

For music playing, I'd suggest Quintessential Player. it's just a 1/4 of the screen type thing, like Winamp used to be, and its the best music player I've ever had. Simple, easy to navigate and lots of lovely skins too.
