Should have a brand spanking new PC sitting here next week, and I've just decided I'm going to change my ways having read an article on Firefox being greater then IE.

So with a new PC comes along new ways. You see, on this PC I'll automatically open up Internet Explorer without a thought for the Internet. But when the new PC comes along I hope to break that habit.

So with that, I was thinking, what other programs are there that I SHOULD be using? Or just programs that are essential to have and you always find yourself using?

Hit me.

I can't comment from experience, but from a little reading around I gather that allowing to many pipe connections at once can be a heavy load on a web server hosting the web site, as it has to respond to more connections at a time.

Again, no experience here, but allowing to many pipes might also inadvertently have you added to a web site's firewall blacklist as being a hijacked robot attempting a DOS attack (lots of connections coming from the same machine).

This could be inaccurate of course, but I would have thought that default values are the defaults for a reason.

No problem all. Glad to pass on the tip. DiG, I've never seen this problem on my browser. Any site in particular you can point me too?

I have had a problem with some Flash files not loading straight away, prompting a refresh, but it's not a regular thing.

There's supposedly an issue with shockwave. I've yet to see it.

That's fantastic - pages load so much quicker! Why isn't it enabled by default?

Performance, security, the open source nature, the extensions, it's customisable and it's adherance to web standards.

It's just a far better product.

Rather irrelevant reasons, seeing as IE is free, and the anti MS bashing is dumb.
