Hey everyone,

So I got my Radeon 9800 Pro yesterday and when I went to put it into my AGP slot it didn't fit by about 1mm. Then someone told me the card looked like it was meant for a PCI slot so I tried it in that but it still didn't work. I drew this amazing picture (on paint :P) so you can get a better idea of what's happening:

Btw that's not my motherboard I just got a pic off the net.

So is there anyway to fix this? Or do I have to send the card back?

Thanks, Lipe.

Oh yeah, forgot to mention that if your computer is a commercial pre built model like a dell, if you could post the model I could probably find out what motherboard it has.

Yeah, and could you hold the graphics card by it so we can see the problem?

Nah, the tabs (is that what they're called?) seem like they can fit into the AGP slot but there isn't enough space for them to get into the right position so I can push them down.

I have a lever but it seems fixed. I've pushed it down with quite a bit of force and it doesn't move...and I don't want to use more force incase I break it.

Yeah, I've got a digital camera but I need to recharge the batteries. Should I take a picture of the AGP slot?

Erm, no idea. The PC was already built but I'll have al ook around to see if it did.

BTW, I reccomend that you never take any advice from the guy that told you that the 9800 pro should go in the PCI slot.

Not really sure what your problem is, is the whole card too big for the AGP slot?

When installing a graphics card, make sure the AGP lever is pulled back (little plastic thingy on one end of the slot), then you'll have to push the card into the slot with quite a bit of force and it should snap into place. Then just snap the lever back into position.

If you could get a camera and take a picture of your problem it would be a lot of help.

And do you know what your motherboard is? Did it come with a manual?
