Hey everyone,

So I got my Radeon 9800 Pro yesterday and when I went to put it into my AGP slot it didn't fit by about 1mm. Then someone told me the card looked like it was meant for a PCI slot so I tried it in that but it still didn't work. I drew this amazing picture (on paint :P) so you can get a better idea of what's happening:

Btw that's not my motherboard I just got a pic off the net.

So is there anyway to fix this? Or do I have to send the card back?

Thanks, Lipe.

Bah...wish I had found this out when I bought the PC. Then I could of complained and gotten a different one. So basically I have to be very careful with the cards that I buy and make sure that they can fit since I doubt the 9800 is the only card that can't fit right?

That seems really dumb. If only that slot was a few centimeters left (or right depending on what way you look at it) it would fit.
Heres a picture of my setup for comparison: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v53/Fuzzt/case.jpg (I rotated it so it looks the same as the picture you posted)

That link don't work for me. As for what Nimco said, to help you picture it better the front of the PC is the side closest to you when you view the picture.

It might just be me being really dopey (and not being able to tell exactly from the photos) but it looks like the slot is on the motherboard the wrong way around.

Does it look like the grooves on the card line up with the grooves on the slot if the card is turned around. Clearly though, it won't fit in the case if you turn it round :S

It's so cramped that it's hard to get a decent picture...but you can still see why the GFX card can't fit.

Nope, the card is too long so I can't like it up properly.

Yeah, that's exactly my problem. Looks like there's nothing I can do about it. I had already looked at the X700 to replace the 9800. Ah well...guess I have to send the 9800 back.
