Virgin Radio has been running a poll for the 500 greatest songs of all time and the results were out earlier today.

I guessed the munber one spot from the beggining even though I dont think it is the best song ever. There were a few shocks in the Top 10. I though Queen would be higher and I really didnt expect Robbie Williams to be there.

So what do you think of the results?

Looking at the replies, you lot would most probably agree with XFM's X-List 2004 that they're playing through today.

Nirvana crap will dominate it. I hate Nirvana.

That one sounds dire too.

HOOBASTANK
The reason

FFS, this song is so poor. How is it in an 'all-time' list? It's (enter multiple expletives here).

Bohemian Rhapsody shouild be higher, I'm afraid. 'Tis a marvellous song.

Keane in there multiple times? No, I'm sorry, this is pish, it really is.

EDIT: "Children Of The Revolution" not in the top 100?!?!

Hmm.

Pity Pink Floyd didn't much of a look in, and it's a shame it's mostly pop music of our culture. Where's Sigur Ros, for example?

Having said that, they'd both be more at home in a top albums list.

Too true. It's all I hear from some people...

I just don't understand what's so good about them.

That one's a bit better, although quite a lot of it is still quite dire.

Agree with the #1.

I half agree with the number 1.
I don't really have a favourite song, but that's one of them.

They picked all the crappy Radiohead songs though.

Where's "My Iron Lung" "Planet Telex" and "Electioneering"?
