What hard rock bands would you recommend? Trying to find some that I can buy on CD.

If you were referring to my post then I think you misunderstood. I was saying that because Metallica have been mentioned, the other band in question were not the best. I agree, Metallica are the best band ever.

You wanna listen to some "Meshuggah". One of the best heavy metal bands in the world. Some would say that they are Death Metal but I don't agree.

Terrorizer were a thrash 'supergroup' from the late eighties who released one album called 'World Downfall'...its unbelievable and took me ten years to track it down on CD.......Pitchshifter are cool!

METALLICA! but nothing from St. Anger. It's rubbish. Lars Ulrich's drum sound is the funniest thing I've heard in years.

St Anger was easily the worst of all their albums. It sounded like it was recorded in a public toilet. Master of Puppets was the best.

One of my mates showed my their CD today, he said it was their EP which was only 1 track, but it was 20 minutes long!! He said they were 'death metal' but not having heard them i cant comment. I know the guitarists uses a custom 8-string guitar so i suspect they sound just a little heavy!! Most people regard 7-string tuning as extreme.
