Thank you.
It is something only Stridiot would do.

Yes you did (or your Dad did, whatever). He gave you his money, you didn't give him the product he paid for.
Anything else is irrelevant.
Just because he refused to take the item dosn't give you the right to keep the money.
Stealing is stealing.
Just hope he dosn't find out where you live, I know many folk who wouldn't be happy to loose £300+ this close to christmas and would do some pretty nasty stuff to get it back or seek revenge.
Oh and if he was to seek legal action it's pretty unlikely that you'd win and keep the cash, you'd probably end up paying more..
> I didn't steal from him though.
You took the money.
You didn't give him the phone.
That's called stealing.

Did he say "oh no! a CCTV camera! I better not go over there!!"
No? Then how do you know?
Maybe he didn't want to go somewhere with your dad because he was being overly pushy and the guy felt threatened?
"my dad and his mates will kick the crap out of him"
If your dad was prepared to do that, I'm guessing he wasn't particularly friendly to the chap when they met...
Your dad was probably hassling the guy too much about the signature, the guy got scared and ran off. Simple as that.

No I didn't.
He ran away from his money, if he didn't want to go on with the deal then anymore then he could've easily said so but he didn't, he ran away.
This isn't an example of theft. say you refuse to pay because that account is in someone else's name
EDIT: ok, well kinda, but not a simple case of theft.
tell him it's at such a such police station and that he will need ID to get it back. If he's that adverse to being caught on camera or the like you may not hear from him again
