I ordered it with the live pack (a very good deal for £49.99) as an early Christmas present.

Goldeneye was so superb because not only was it a first class shoot-em-up with some of the best level design ever, but because it had the N64 controller to its advantage!
No controller since has given the same gun-like feel as the '64 controller; hence Goldeneye and Perfect Dark are two of the best shooters ever. Hell, even EA made a good Bond shooter on the N64. And remember when Turok was actually really good?
