Looks quite good and its £190, so cheaper than the 'pod.

Simply select songs using the Mediasource porgram it comes with and click the transfer button, and they whizz across with no conversion unless you specify it, they get automatically organised into albums etc according to the mp3/wma tags. You can also use it as a portable hard drive using supplied software, Im not sure - but I think the Zen touch may even be drag and drop.

How do you copy things to the Zen then?

The marketing deceptively says so; but this is done but converting the tracks into "Atrac3" so technically yes it does play mp3s by converting them into "Atrac3" on your PC then uploading "Atrac3" to the device.

So the Sony thing DOES contain mp3 playback now?

Is there a newer model or something, and just the old ones dont play mp3s?
