Simply select songs using the Mediasource porgram it comes with and click the transfer button, and they whizz across with no conversion unless you specify it, they get automatically organised into albums etc according to the mp3/wma tags. You can also use it as a portable hard drive using supplied software, Im not sure - but I think the Zen touch may even be drag and drop.

The marketing deceptively says so; but this is done but converting the tracks into "Atrac3" so technically yes it does play mp3s by converting them into "Atrac3" on your PC then uploading "Atrac3" to the device.
