75Hz is the same across almost all TFT's. As for resolution, after 15", your stuck at 1280x up until 20" (some 19's do use 1600x but are stupidly expensive) There's only so many pixels you can squeeze into a 15-19" frame!

High quality 17" TFT's seem to cost around £250+ the AOC's do not support DVI 15" only go up to 1024x at 75hz :\

(hmm... may go LaCie instead of Viewsonic now seeing the price is almost the same!)

Again, contrast ration of 400:1, but LaCie are the best in the business for DTP, Graphic Design and CAD applications.

Anyone who uses LG/Phillips screens as they the best on the market concidering they a) invented them & b) Have the greater experience in manufacturing them.

LG, Phillips, Samsung, Viewsonic, LaCie, Ilyama

For the bast results from a TFT, look for one which supports DVI, has a 60% increase in performance over Standard VGA.

I had an AOC 17" - very good quality for the price, great for games etc, just a bit lacking when it comes to high contrast stuff like DVDs etc..

Hercules. If any reviews say anything bad about the viewing angle, ignore it. That was a problem on the old versions. I can sit practically side on to the monitor and it's still clear. It's about 170 degrees horizontally, and about 150 degrees vertically.
