Its not really about refresh rates, the picture quality of CRT is a lot better simply because its an old technology that has been manufatured and perfected, this will have to be done to TFT as well for instants my current TFT is not very good at displaying dark colours such as black.
TFT's are not as durable as CRT's as well and can of course develope dead pixels.

And CRT's are cheaper compared to TFT's I've seen a 19" IIYAMA cost about £117 while their cheapest 17" TFT is £238 it's up to the person I guess, CRT's are heavy but have good refresh rates while TFT's look good and are light but don't have high refresh rates like CRT's do.

And people who aren't made of dosh.

Meh, I like gaming with CRT's, TFT's just don't feel right for games.

CRT still has a good following. It's mostly hardcore gamers and graphics experts that stick with CRT now though.

If I remember rightly the command a bit of a premium over other brands, not through being a Hercules per se, but because they have better cooling that most other 9800XTs that just followed the ATI reference design. Might be wrong though.

Wow - I've got a Hercules 9800XT Graphics card as well - is that valuable?
