I'm wanting to get myself a 20gb iPod this xmas and I'm selling various things (ps2, cds, my body, etc) to pay for it.

I'm wondering, however, where's the best place to buy one from price wise, escept I don't trust eBay sellers for something as expensive as this.

the Apple website says $299, which I deduced with an online currency converter to be round £165, and if I'm not wrong I can get 10% off any apply produce with my NUS card, which will cut it down to more or less £150.

(Please, correct me here if I am wrong)

So give me some 'pod advice, ideas of prices and retailers, etc.

Thankuu.

Can you link me to this Zen thing to give me an idea of looks and specs etc?

I'm writing some work up and I don't have loads of time to go searching about for it right now.

I think sticking with the iPod surely has its advantages in that it is more popular and therefore I can get support/advice/etc when I need it from a greater number of people.

A Zen Touch wouldn't be a bad choice - I don't think the MP3 market is quite so centred as the console market is - and the Zen is a worthy alternative, and cheaper as well. Both are fantastic.

i'd stick with ipod mate. Even if their are superior products its not really worth it. Once something like ipod becomes ridiculously mainstream there isn't really that much point getting the alternatives as all programmes, mods and additional products are going to be targeted at the mainstream product, and you'll get more long term life out of it.

I guess £200 isnt an overly ridiculous price to pay for a big jukebox like that.

Unless anyone would recomend a different jukebox?

think you might be wrong. I suspect you are wrong. You'll have to buy it from the UK website for the following reasons:

1. you'll probably be made to pay customs charges on that
2. as they have a uk branch you'll probably have to order from it
3. you have to order through the education hotline for your ten per cent discount.
4. Its 200 quid from the UK one (including discount), or it was when i got mine in august.

haven't see them cheaper than that in the uk
