I went into my local GAME yesterday and to my amazement the Gamecube shelf space has shrunk even smaller. It really was a pitiful sight and quite embarrassing for a die hard Nintendo fan.
The shelf space is now just one block. There were the usual top five slots which were virtually empty and then the 'selection' of naff games underneath. Now yes I suppose you could look at it 2 ways, either they've all sold out (which is laughably unlikely) or that GAME just can't be ars*d with the Gamecube anymore (which I KNOW is whats happening).
Woollies now have hardly any Gamecube stuff. Dixons, Currys, Comet and all those electrical retailers stopped selling it months ago and it looks like even GAME are now on the 'dump Cube' runaway train.
3 years into the life of the N64 was better than this and that was considered a commercial flop.

Your damn right they will get back some land. The main reason for this is because of the new Zelda which will most likely push sales through the roof.

REad my reply lower down.
May I ask why you care?
Oh dear....

As for this comment, I have bought loads of bargains from GAME over the last few years. I got FIFA 2005 for £20 NEW a few months back as they were doing a special deal.
They aren't overall cheaper but they do fantastic deals and they sell a lot of games at £30 - £32 now.
As for your Point 1, gamers are interested in the console with the biggest release at the time. No one is interested in Nintendo at the moment because there isn't any Halo or GTA style game. The GBA was really popular a while back with the host of Mario, zelda and Pokemon games released. No, no one is interested in the Cube at the moment. But come March when Resident Evil 4 is released they will be. And come November when The Legend of Zelda is released (to not much competiton) they will be again.

I find it funny that this is the 50th post this year where Nintendo gamers are crying because the boxes aren't at the front of the store or there isn't much space on the shelves.
Well that might be because there isn't as many games???? Just a bloody thought.
And it's hardly hard to get a Gamecube and games, you're not gonna struggle to get one. Sure some chains stop selling but, in my small back water town, there are 4 places where I can buy GAmecube and Gamecube games!
And none of them are a GAME, a GAmestation, A HMV or a Virgin!
How many people do you see go into a shop and go "oh look, stock at the front of the shop, I'll buy it"... you're point seems to be for advertisement and that's what the whole box set ups and new release shelving and stuff comes in handy!
Nintendo sell more consoles world wide, who cares if the games are at the front of the shop, on two shelves, at the back, on 80 shelves... it doesn't matter. No one cares. It doesn't make the blind bit of difference. Shut up.
The Gamecube was like this September 2003, then Mario Kart was released with a price cut and sales shot through the roof.
There was a lull before Metroid Prime and Resi 0 was released too, after a certain "disaster" of a Christmas, Nintendo released 2 games and both got in the top 10. One hit the top spot. Gamecube sales increased dramatically.
Resident Evil 4 is a massive release, tonnes of hype and I know 3 people who are getting a Gamecube when it comes out already.
I can guarentee the game will hit number 1 in America, Europe and Japan and I can guarentee there will be a sales boost.
Nintendo had no GTA or Halo beater this Christmas and so Nintendo suffers because of it. But they'll get back some land, they always bloody do!

What planet are you on?
Point 1 - People are not interested in the Cube anymore. Special box displays now are too little, too late.
Point 2 - Yeh right!
Point 3 - GAME have had to slash their prices because everyone else is selling games cheaper. You would be an idiot to buy games from GAME, they are so expensive.
And congratulations, you seem to live near the only GAME in the country which seems actually to be trying to sell Cube games. Your misplaced over-optimism seems to be locally infectious.

Resident Evil 4 will have posters, special box displays and sitting all over the "new release section"...
The GAME store in Cambridge has a 3 shelf spaced area filled with Gamecube stuff right at the front of the shop.
Also GAME have slashed their game prices considerably in the last 12 months.
