Scans from PC Gamer (Februrary) on AoE III.

Looks very nice. Hopefully it'll be better than AoM too.

I put an order down for this with a Gameaday win some time ago- I only hope that it's worth the wait. Still, I enjoyed its predecessors a lot so this has a lot to live up to, and the graphics look suitably good.

I like the idea of victory points- something that appeared in a great game I never managed to get the full version of, Sid Meier's Gettysburg. However, the lack of European wars is a tad annoying as I would really like to good Napoleon a good kicking. Now, we play the waiting game....

I liked doing Fortress games, and then building another layer of walls (with towers lining the inside) around the original fortress. Incredibly difficult to break down.

Best thing about AoE was making a square fort (surrounded by towers) at the front of your base, with a front and back gate. Fill the entire thing with an army and lock both gates. When the AI come towards you, let them in the fort and then lock all gates. You then get a beefy battle where they can't escape thus with the help of towers you win easily.

Bloody same with me. Why does it cut out? WHY?
(Yes I know there's a proper answer, but the only one I'm looking for is, "Yeah it's a cruel world...")

Well, that impression wasn't meant to be given, I jsut had a 100-strong paladin army hiding away.

He made 4 bases, and I destoryed three, but I never got to destroy the fourth because I was disconnected.

He's put it on an island, and I had to chase boats to find it.

He wouldn't have beaten me though.

I was under the impression that you only had paladins and that they didn't get involved until the end. So no duh :P

I have all my castles/watchtowers strategically placed.

He sent in about 5 trebuchets, and I lost some castles, but then my garrisoned units that came out of the castles attacked teh trebuchets.

Problem solved.
