I believe that Rare would be very wise to make their own console. Most of their support goes out to Nintendo who are very far behind Sony. Unless Rare and Nintendo are successful together and make a good console qith good games that sells well. On the other hand a console is only as good as the games that are on it and in this department Nintendo are easily competing with, if not better than Sony, especially with the help of Rare. Again this brings us to the point of which next-gen console will be the best, although in my opinion the competition will be between PS2 and XBox. These two will have more variety in their games than Gamecube. What it comes down to is that unless Rare can help the Gamecube a success, which is already looking unlikely due to the late release date, they would be smart to expand. If not to their own consoles they should at least publish games for the other two nest-gen formats.
