Sometimes I think, should I still be playing games at my age? Well, the thing is, yes!
You see, my generation was were it really started to kick off. We were the ones who had the first taste of what laid the foundations for the consoles of today.
The Nintendo Entertainment System, the Sega Master System. We played Sonic and Mario when the mere thought of Sony enjoying the success they do now would have been laughed off as being ridiculous.
The original GameBoy is now transformed into the Nintendo DS. And Sony have an amazing handheld console coming out too. Who would have thought?
I can't see my enjoyment of games ending though. I mean, why should it?! I don't have to listen to Radio 2 or drive a sensible car. And I'm not going to.
18 rated games weren't needed (or wanted) when I was young and yet the Grand Theft Auto series are now one of the most successful titles ever released.
So play. Play lots. And forget about thinking whether you should be doing it anymore.
In the meantime, I'll be waiting for my Nintendo DS and copy of Mario 64 DS to arrive. And yes I will be running to the door like a child when the postman comes....

Saying the original GB has over the years transformed into the DS is true. The DS is just the latest handheld from Nintendo and it has elements of everything that's gone before it.

Just because it is a handheld doesn't make it the next Gameboy.
Just because Pokemon mini is a handheld doesn't make it a Gameboy.

You can never be too old to have fun. I hope I never am. Mario DS is a great game but I suggest that you pick up Feel the Magic as well, as well as Polarion, Yoshi Touch & Go and Wario Ware Touched when they all come out in the ensuing 8 weeks.
And we can never thank them enough.
