I'd agree, why watch crap tv when you can watch porn? You just wouldn't - not until you'd worn yourself out.
But think about it for a second - why is it such an obvious winner? Because so many people watch all that crap on tv out of habit or boredom, not because they really want to.
Still, some people would still watch 'non-porn', there'd still be normal programs available.
Plus the porn would be limted to certain hours or restricted access channels. There'll still be regular tv available.

True, but there are still one or two non-porn web sites too, everyone has a choice :^)

Hmm. I'm not sure, I guess it could be for some, but I doubt 90%.
The 'main' principle of porn is that people like sex, and porn offers a second best when they can't get it.
Sex isn't about humiliation and degredation, I don't think porn has to be either.
Then again, sometimes it does seem to be an aspect to it...

Heh, and soap downgrades it self further to compete, resulting in:

You raise some fair points, but not everyone who likes the occasional boobie is sad, we are just lonely :0)
I think sticking hardcore porn to one channel is certainly a good idea (hopefully channel 5), but relegating all films with sex in is harsh. I mean, the more-than-adequate ratings are there for a reason, but I guess a more prudent warning before it actually starts would be good, much like how Channel 5 used to, but no longer do.

No, i watch to see them get naked and take the beef.
I think that it should only stick to certain channels! Its ok for alot of people but i think TV will just start getting way to sleazy.

I'm not sure how serious I was - its just I don't want to see TV turn into a porn portal.
And monkey_man says "just turn over" - what, soap operas versus hardcore porn, Saturday night tv versus hardcore porn, dire sitcoms versus hardcore - there's only one winner: the ratings will sky high and before long there'll be hundreds and hundreds of channels, featuring every possible strain, from barely legal to grannies, from watersports to bukkake.
On the internet, there's no stopping it. Just keep the TV set free of it, there's too much already. And its all about money. "If it makes money then its good" - that's the motto of this topsyturvy world, and this is just another symbol of its decline.
Mary Whitehouse lives! - But seriously, does no-one agree with me? that [ultimately] porn is about humilation and degradation, and that's why 90% of men view it: to see young slutz [the likes of which they are never gonna f**k] get humilated and degraded.
