There we go, PSP has just out sold DS for the first time.

Many people have waited for years for a console that is not Nintendo with the usual line of of Nintendo games. And the stylus is not going to save the DS. DS just is not powerfull enough to take on PSP. How many years til the GBA2 is released?

The thing is though, these figures don't really say anything at the current moment in time.

Give it a year and then real comparisons can be made.

No: it's Japan.

Trends tend to go that way there.

It's a fantastic result though Hedfix, it means the gaming market must be getting rejuvenated by all of this.

The DS and GBA combined is selling about 55,000 consoles, which is about as much as the GBA used to sell a week.

The PSP is selling 70,000 it isn't effecting Nintendo sales by the looks of it (backing up the point that they really are competing for different market space) and it means that 125,000 handhelds were sold last WEEK in Japan.

Can you believe that? That's incredible.

*explodes with excitement*

Oh yeah, I don't own any shares in either so it really doesn't matter.

On other news Socks ltd out-sold Socks inc this month with a new range of socks that fit into your ears so you can't hear the fanboy's going at it.

PSP has also increased further in sales, now up to 70,000!

Which is frankly unbelievable, whilst the DS is still at 43,000.

The Gamecube and GBA sold a little more this month too.

Resident Evil 4 sits at number 3 in the charts, beaten by PS2 RPG's and there is not a single PSP game in the top 10. 2 DS games though.

My local GameStation has a 4' x 4' Dreamcast display cabinet full of stuff. I was surprised, but I had been living overseas for many years.
