I was wondering what is the best / cheapest domain names for .com or .co.uk, I don't mind spending say £10-20 for it, and I think I’d be able to make the site myself, well I have good knowledge of frontpage, and I know quite a bit of html, i was planning to use my new gismo dreamweaver, but the uploading is confusing on there.
I’ve looked at staghosting.com which seems great, but i haven't a clue
1)how much bandwidth I would need
2)how much each visitor takes in bandwidth roughly
3)and how many visitors I would need to qualify for adsense
No.3 sounds a bit long term but i would still like to know.
i was planning to use the site for my flash movies i have created, a forum and a list of free online games.
now i know that my movies at the moment would take up a extremely small 1500kb considering the length and quality, i plan to make more though, anyways. I know that with staghosting's 2gb monthly bandwidth i could have 2000 (roughly) visitors viewing my movies. that is if i am correct with my calculations.
the problem is, i know good flash movies are extremely popular, and i was planning to submit my movies to several extremely popular sites including my URL somewhere in my movies.
i know if they have already veiwed my movies they might not again but, the only other way is to get one of the sites to host my movies, but they have loads of ads and stuff.
What i mainly want to know is how much is a .com? Will staghosting be enough? How many visitors do i need for google adsense, oh and i remember phi11ip saying something about being strict with the content, well my content is clean as a whistle.
any help is greatly appreciated.

Oooooh, when?
Plus for people who've already bought domains it's a bit useless...

That's why then, if you're stupid enough to buy from a non Nominet registered company then it's your own fault.
Freeola, 123Reg and Ukreg are both registered so you're fine if you buy from them.

I fail to see what the problem is as I cannot see you have promoted anything, my earlier post was not directed at you.

Now thats one hell of an assumption. Assuming that was directed at myself, then I shall set things straight now. I have never advertised anything on this site.
Yes, you have rules, no, thery're not obvious and as far as I can remeber, this is the first time anyone has been brought up on this in this forum (Specifically this one). Someone questions the ability of Freeola (and he's not the first to do it in this forum) you throw your toys out the pram. He's also not the first to mention alternative hosting on here! There ware several threads a while back about hosting and nothing was said then, so why the sudden need to act all butch here?
From running various boards for various comapanies (A lot bigger than SR) I too run AUP's regarding the advertising of competitors, but instead of getting all frumpy, I used my iniative and stopped users from posting links and created a "Ban List" of words relating to said competitors.

It's human nature to question what we have been told, we'd still be in caves if we didn't, and my question was relevant to this anyway, I merely pointed out that your link to you rules isn't obvious and therefore users should not be peanalized for not knowing them due to crap usability and poor site design.

It's not exactly obvious is it?

Is this to be sometime soon (days, weeks)?
Also, is the webmail feature close to being launched too?

As a suggestion, maybe you should post an AUP for these forums. You always going to get peole talking about businessess outside of SR, thats theunfortunate nature of messge boards.
