I was wondering what is the best / cheapest domain names for .com or .co.uk, I don't mind spending say £10-20 for it, and I think I’d be able to make the site myself, well I have good knowledge of frontpage, and I know quite a bit of html, i was planning to use my new gismo dreamweaver, but the uploading is confusing on there.
I’ve looked at staghosting.com which seems great, but i haven't a clue
1)how much bandwidth I would need
2)how much each visitor takes in bandwidth roughly
3)and how many visitors I would need to qualify for adsense
No.3 sounds a bit long term but i would still like to know.
i was planning to use the site for my flash movies i have created, a forum and a list of free online games.
now i know that my movies at the moment would take up a extremely small 1500kb considering the length and quality, i plan to make more though, anyways. I know that with staghosting's 2gb monthly bandwidth i could have 2000 (roughly) visitors viewing my movies. that is if i am correct with my calculations.
the problem is, i know good flash movies are extremely popular, and i was planning to submit my movies to several extremely popular sites including my URL somewhere in my movies.
i know if they have already veiwed my movies they might not again but, the only other way is to get one of the sites to host my movies, but they have loads of ads and stuff.
What i mainly want to know is how much is a .com? Will staghosting be enough? How many visitors do i need for google adsense, oh and i remember phi11ip saying something about being strict with the content, well my content is clean as a whistle.
any help is greatly appreciated.
Dammit.
There's a problem with the server it seems, in that some ISPs just can't connect to it...
I had two other sites in that nobody on Wanadoo could connect to them, although you're one of the first who can't connect to phi11ip.com.
Try this site:
http://www.football-database.co.uk
Does that work?
phi11ip, do SH increase your monthly bandwidth ir do they give you a kinda top-up?
and i can't load up www.phi11ip.com *sad face* but my freind can...
dunno what thats all about.
hopefully if i can make time i shall have a site.
thanks for all your help.

The costs stay the same with Ukreg and Freeola, the price you pay is what it will cost when you renew.
If you site does get popular however and runs out of bandwidth, just ask for more bandwidth and you'll get it, it's not as if there's a shortage.
and do you use the staghosting 5gb thing for your site?
i was planning to get a .com, but i think most people that will be using my site will be from US or worldwide so do you think i should go for .co.uk or .com, and do the fees get bigger every year with 123reg or freeola?

I originally only wrote UKreg and 123reg so it was both, then I realised that I'd get moaned at if I didn't include Freeola, so blame Freeola for my crap grandma.

I've been using JBMail for a while now (http://jbmail.pc-tools.net/) and have found it great to wash out spam before downloading it. I like being able to get rid of it first, and only download mail I want, meaning anything nasty hidden wouldn't even make it to my computer.
JBMail basically connects to the mailbox remotely, lets you read, reply, forward and delete emails without saving the changes to your mailbox. Once you've deleted all that you want, you save your changes to your mailbox. This is great if you accidentally delete one that you wanted to keep, because you simply close the program without saving, and your email will still be on the Freeola mail servers.
Though to completely remove spam (for now) I've just created a new email address.

In a few months but I am told when its done and we are sure there is no bugs it will be launched.
With DNS changes it is currently done by members of staff to vertify the registrant is requesting it and not someone else, this is why an admin fee is charged and this is also why when you register you are not charged for this fee.
Webmail unfortunatly we do not have time for when we expect this to be completed but their are a number of good POP3 readers you can use for the time being, one I use is http://www.mail2web.com (using the advanced login). Also as most people who have contacted us know we also recommend a program called JBMail (very useful especially when your account is blocked by hideous spam).
