You really are one bitter, twisted individual aren't you? Relax and listen to the nice music. By the way, has anyone heard Pyramid Song yet? I've heard it's nothing special, but i'll still be in the queue buying Amnesiac in a couple of weeks. As for Kid A, there was nothing fundamentally wrong with it, it was just a different direction they took. After all, where do you go after OK Computer? Do you make an album full of songs that sound the same as the last one?
If you look at their albums in chronological order, this is the direction they've been heading in for years. I expect Amnesiac will be more chilled and laid back than Kid A, with a few more experimental tracks like Treefingers.
And while all this is happening, Muse just get better and better - check out the new single for proof. If their new album isn't the best thing since The Bends then i'll eat my slightly worn out beanie hat. Keep on rocking.
You mentioned the rate at which they are producing. This shows you the pressure they were under, hence them producing a sub-standard album.
I am positive that the next album will be the next logical step in terms of Radiohead style, and Kid A will make no sense whatsoever.
I don't hate the album - it might sound like I do - I just have my opinion on the reason for it's existence.
It's a common occurance, and I believe that the 'second album being bad' phenomenon quite often stems from the pressure put onto bands. Not in this case obviously, but I reckon it's the same thing just a bit further on in their existence.
Another possible idea for the bad quality of this album would be that the band actually used it as a protest against the record company. Many a very bad album has been made to annoy the big cheeses.
But it makes a welcome change from the bosses putting together bands just to annoy us.
Anyone heard of A1?
It is very brave to be doing this at a time now where the music industry is producing simple 'ear candy' in the form of Pop. I saw them live in Newport before the release of Kid A and it was phenomenal.
I like the fact that they are now producing records at an amazing rate, and not waiting around for three years to produce one LP. Don't expect each song to WOW you with amazement, because they won't. Simply relax and take note of the talent of these people.
Plus we could all see that this was the way Radiohead were diverging, from parts of OK Computer, so accept it, like it or loathe it.

Another intelligent and well argued point there Corleone.
And once more, thanks for making me chuckle.
It's experimental and rubbish, and I'd go as far to say that the whole thing was just put together by the band because they were being forced to produce something.
Happens quite a lot nowadays unfortunately.
And as proof, watch out for how the next album suddenly goes back to being good again.
Oh and if anyone ever gets the opportunity to meet Mr Yorke, simply say: "Chin up!'
Well thats what I'd say anyway - miserable b*stard

Dont get me wrong, I count Radiohead as one of my fav bands.
But Kid A made me scratch my head, although I love
Everything in it's right Place
National Anthem
How to Disappear
But from what I've heard of Amnesiac, I wont be buying it, or even downloading the rest from Napster.
Pablo Honey: Some good songs, emotions we've all felt at some point. Good debut
The Bends: The moment it all started to come together. High & Dry is a perfect sunny day song, Fake Plastic Trees is a heartbreaking wish for something, Street Spirit is one the most beautiful songs ever written.
OK Computer: Era defining album. The feeling of being out of touch with your own soul. Going too fast to be in control of anything, enveloped in white noise from faxes, computers, phones, tv, cars rushing by.
The sound of someone screaming in a wind-tunnel, begging for it all to stop for just a second so they can catch their breath.
Kid A: A little bit arty, none of the passion or emotion that connected me to them. Still some good songs.
Amnesiac: Ponderous, weary and no effort being supplied. I can forgive arty-diversions, I can never forgive people just showing up and being a radiohead cover band.
Yeah, it sounds like them, but something's missing.
Still the best band in the world :D
POWER OF THE SHEEP
I just have gone off them because, for me, it was all about passion and intensity.
Compare something like Street Spirit or Climbing up The Walls - hugely emotive, conveying something we all feel.
The ability to articulate the minor fears and nameless panics we all suffer from.
There was always an undercurrant of frantically trying to reach something before it was too late.
An urgency.
Pyramid Song?
"I cant be boooothered...mumbly mumbly mumbly...yawn yawn yawn"
It's not for me, but that might change.
As for Kid A.
I've gotsome live versions, and they are good.
As for "Motion Picture Sountrack", live that was fantastic with Yorke at the piano.
Album version sounds like the death rattle of an old man, releasing his final sigh of tomb scented resignation of life.
Dreadful.
I've defended Radiohead before from the "Complaint Rock" accusations, but there can be no defence from sounding bored with it all.
