This is the question. How long should a notable stay a notable if they no longer post on the forums?

1 Year
2 Years
3 Years
or Forever

The notion of Notables means nothing anymore.
It used to, but now it's a regular 3 month thing it's become nothing more than another excuse for screaming goobers to elect another gibbering buttmonkey.

Level the playing field and just have names with numbers of posts beside them, Notability used to be something to achieve. But of late the forums have disappeared under a morass of webtards.
It's not the same community it once was and it's no wonder that "old hands" are simply not bothering to post anymore - no point when it's angsty teens writing ass-awful short stories about zombies and murder or asking when they'll grow fuzz and like girls etc etc etc

As for providing examples of a Notable's previous work?
Pfffft
Make me/us bright blue and call us "Bennies" if you want, I'll post as infrequently as I do now anyway
*shrugs*

Things move on, forums change.
Alas a once great waste-of-working-day has now become a slog through a digitised version of Sugar! for boys

Hang on...

A topic with Tony, YH, Sheepy and Ant posting????

These people still exist?

The Nintendo forum truly is a hidden forum.

But Stryke!
Sniper IS one of the 5 originals, along with Grix, Meka, FM and Ant.
It might be hard to understand now... now the forum's all develloped and has this unwritten writing standard snobbery, but back in the day... people understood. :-)

Anysway, you lot are taking this notable thing WAAAAY too seriously with those whole "what deserves notability" and the whole "101 ways to test true notableness" thing going on.

Although if there's too many notables then it isn't quite as notable as it may should be. So retire absent notables out of the limelight until they feel the need to return and flash us with their character again! :-)

yeah several not just 1 as in that length of time I'm sure there are many deserving, well depends how long it is, 1 a month or 3 every quarterly, or something :)

Sounds quite a good idea, though I think we should have maybe 2 or 3 notables at a time.

I like that idea, then Notability would actually mean much more than just a popularity contest.

okay they have no stories :) still it's a great place.

How about you have a Notable status, but only one person can have it. And they win a GAD as well. it lasts umm 1 month or 2 and Special Reserve web monkeys get to choose who they think deserves it, based on several criteria, their contribution to the forums, to other areas on the sites (reviews/walkthroughs/etc) and their conduct with others and whether they've been helpful/creative where possible. That way SR win, no more fighting and hostility, no more eliteness and finally they have a way of getting Forest Fan to be a notable without it relying on public vote.

Will that do?

Digital Spy nicer? hm.

Couldn't see any decent stories on there, a little too focused...

Anyway, Notables sacked? Well, I agree that there may be too many soon, but I'm not sure about how the system should be re-arranged.
