Going to Alton Towers this firday taking the gf as a birthday present(may sound selfish but she loves rollercoasters). I was wondering if anyone had any good tips any paticular rides? Or any tips to miss cues?

I thought that aswell.. However i wsd under the influence when i went on it last year

not nemesis it bashes you about and when you get off you shoulders hurt like hell.

Nemesis- It is worth queuing an extra 10 minutes just to be at the front. Its just fantasic at the front.

Oblivion- Doesnt really matter. You dont get an option but both has its benifits. At the front you dont see the other riders and at the back you are slightly raised so you hang over a bit further.

Black hole- Do your best to get to the back because the back car is pulled by the rest meaning you go alot quicker down the first drop.

Air- Again, its worth queuing at the front for an extra 10 because the view is fantastic from there.

Duel- little tip.. rest your elbow on the side of your vehicle to support your gun.

Submission- Dont suck in your gut when the harnesses come down because it will be tight. I found out the hard way.



As for shorter queues.. dont go in the holidays.

Two of the most underated rides at Alton towers. The rapids and log-flume. Ive never laughed so much in my life on the rapids, it depends on what kind of people u r with. I remeber goin on it 5 times in a row, this one time (at band camp) we went on it and 6 of us leaned into a wave and a massive tidal wave of water flooded the whole seating area. we all had to put our legs in the air, got absolutely drenched. Also the log flume is quite deadly especially if ur at the front or middle, cos the people at the back have the advantage of soaking u with their hands. (of course it depends if ur with psychopaths)

Hex was the worse ever. It was new so had a massive queue, terrible it was.

When you get off any of the major rollercoasters, clutch your neck, walk in a distressed manner, and complain of terrible back pain.

in 2 or 3 years you'll get a nice big cash settlement.

The first time I went wasn't too bad.

Maybe 10-30 mins wait for the big rides.
