It's a simple choice this time, who do you want as the next president of the U.S.A. ?
For those not familiar with the format, you make your choice and it's put beside your name, the votes will be counted up at a later date, 5 spaces have been left for those that want to vote but aren't on the list.
Bush or Kerry ?

Fair enough. Though I'd have thought it'd be more likely he was stretching the truth rather than lying - perhaps he always considered himself a fan, just not enough of a fan to bother going to the games.
Then found himself stretching the extent of his loyalty to show a human side.

Or perhaps he's just been too busy in the last couple of years.

Do you think it'd lose him votes though?
I'd have thought it'd endear him to most/many baseball fans, the ones from 'his' team the most, but also the other teams, following the sport provides something in common with people, regardless of the team.
I'd be very surprised if people would decline to vote for him just because he admitted to supporting a rival team - you'd never hear of a politician supporting anyone! :^)

Well you know with American sports during the game they show basically every single famous person in the stands they can manage. He's been in the public eye for quite some time now, i'd have expected him to pop up at least once in the last year in the crowd if he's such a big fan. (they've only got Ben Affleck to show anyway :-D) But then i can't say i'm surprised that a politician has lied to win a few votes, not like he's the first and i doubt he'll be the last. Could have shot himself in the foot though because i would have thought the New York vote would be more important then the Boston one

I bet he's never seen you at a game either :^)
How much attention would people pay him when he did turn up, before running for Pres ?

Think Light summed up my opinion of the election with his very good analogy :-D

Been in Seattle the past week and the general feeling is that they're pro-Kerry. Hardly surprising seeing as Bush has probably done more damage to the US then any Terrorist could hope to do. (and everyone has had a very long laugh at him for his latest soundbite, which i'm sure has reached these shores by now) However at least Bush tells you what stupid things he's going to do whereas we already know Kerry is a lying get. Life long Boston Redsox fan?? Strange i've been watching baseball for years yet never seen him at a game, he surely couldn't have been lying to make himself popular in Boston? (Smart move einstein, that may make you popular in Boston but you lose the majority of the New York vote in a flash) Plus the whole thing about his military history being banded about in the press as well.

It's basically the same situation we have over here in England, you've got to pick the one you think will do the less damage to the country, for that it'd be Kerry but i wouldn't vote for either personally, much rather go for Nader :-D

Kerry.. has to be more respectful than Bush. Bush thinks that u.s. can control every nation on the planet if they want to. Just like what happen to Britain's Blair. It's incredible just how important the u.s election is to the world.

Yet despite his stupidity, much of the American public seem to find him lovable.

Hmm. Rather a feeble way to try to devalue the opinions of Kerry supporters.

Just because it's a majority view (here at least), doesn't mean 'the vast majority' are just going with the flow. Their decision may have been influenced by reasoning presented by other people, but so is yours. So is everyones.

That argument is just as narrow-minded as saying the only reason you back Bush is because you want to be different, so you can feel special.

I'm sure that's not your reason, to claim it was would be retarded, and probably a means to try to convince oneself that the alternative view didn't mean anything.

Do you feel a strong urge to convince yourself that everyone else's opinion is worthless, everyone who disagrees with you, and not based on valid reasoning?
Do you find it easier to stomache than having to accept so many people disagree with you for genuine reasons?

Lots of rhetorical questions designed to shoehorn the reader into agreeing that Kerry won't make a difference though.
