Its nearly that time again! The season for us lot kicks off next weekend, after, for me, what seemed like a long summer, and i for one cant wait for the season to start.
As always, i have my season ticket and im pretty confident of what The Owls can achieve this season, im just hoping this season can be the one where the rot stops, and we gain promotion. We have a whole new team almost. We released 15 players last season, and signed 11 this, including ex Southampton captain Chrissy Marsden, and then a squad of good young players who all look the part to go with him
We have 2 friendlies left against the Bolton and Everton, and in our previous friendlies we have looked good.
I know there are a number of you lot who support teams in the lower leagues, so lets not let this forum be over run by Premiership talk and such. After all, our clubs are just as important as the bigger clubs.
So what are your hopes and fears for the new season? Who you looking forward to playing the most?
Up the Owls!!
--------------------------------------------
The Owls are goin' up!!! The Owls are goin' up!!! The Owls are goin' up!!!
You do the double over Town (who I don't actually support :D) and then have the nerve to vote me? Tsk :D
RHINOS! RHINOS! RHINOS!
* that's put a jinx on the night for the lads now unless Danny passes as fit *
This week wont be any easier. Including injuries and International Call ups we have 5 players missing!
Its only Torquay at home though on saturday, so should be a win....
Up the Owls!
There first goal was a bit of help from the ref, as they got a free kick from it when the guy ran across our defender and ended up tripping him self up and Wetheral didn't even know he was there. There second was a bit of luck as some one didn't connect with their header properly so their striker just nodded it in.
We should have also have had a stone wall penalty at the end for handball, but it wasn't given. So I am a bit cheesed off.
Also we have now said good bye to our play off hopes. I'd be quite happy if we finished 8th now.
I'll just be glad if Town just stay up this season and that is looking promising at the mo.
It was better when Bulls played at Valley Parade and that was our fortress losing once or twice there. I don't like Odsal (when it's raing it's absolute freezing), I would if they had made the standing in to seating rather than making a posh stand behind the goal, but I'll make do.
Gonna be watching it on TV in the pub though?
Any way to the football, City are playing Hartlepooland if we win them we'll definitely be one step closer to the play offs as they are sixth.
Much prefer the 'warm' pub and I'll wait for the sun to be shining before I go again.
Anyway Odsal was always THE coldest place I'd been to. Going back some time now, before the Bulls started to pull in the following they have now. It used to be that if you wanted to speak to someone else on the terrace you had to shout. Not because of the noise in the stadium but because they were stood so far away.
It's good to see the crowds at Odsal these days and I hope you enjoy your day (but obviously not the result :D)

Oh so your a rugby fan too. Bulls will be playing Rhinos next week, so we'll have to wait and see what happens. It's at Odsal, so I'll be there as I have a season ticket, will you be going?
