For starters, let me say i hate this new way to name the leagues. Calling them Division 1, 2 and 3 made alot more sense. None the less...

Its nearly that time again! The season for us lot kicks off next weekend, after, for me, what seemed like a long summer, and i for one cant wait for the season to start.

As always, i have my season ticket and im pretty confident of what The Owls can achieve this season, im just hoping this season can be the one where the rot stops, and we gain promotion. We have a whole new team almost. We released 15 players last season, and signed 11 this, including ex Southampton captain Chrissy Marsden, and then a squad of good young players who all look the part to go with him

We have 2 friendlies left against the Bolton and Everton, and in our previous friendlies we have looked good.

I know there are a number of you lot who support teams in the lower leagues, so lets not let this forum be over run by Premiership talk and such. After all, our clubs are just as important as the bigger clubs.

So what are your hopes and fears for the new season? Who you looking forward to playing the most?

Up the Owls!!

City lost 2-1 leaving us finishing 11th in the table which isn' too bad for some one who was tipped by the bookies to be 23rd. Also Dean Windass scored our goal meaning he is joint top scorer with Stuart Elliot on 27 or 28.

So then the clearout has begun, Nathan Blake, Nikos Dabizas, Scot Gemmil, Keith Gillespie, Lilian Nallis and Ian Walker have all been released.

The only one I’m really surprised about leaving is Ian Walker, Blake never got a game, same with Scot Gemmil, Keith was voted our player of the season but I understand why he hasn't been offered a new deal for the simple reason is, he is too inconsistent, Lilian, well he scored that wonder goal against Leeds and that’s about it really, Nikos, well he had the foul first win the ball later attitude, And Walker, well he will be sorely missed, he has been a great servant for the club over the past 4 years and I wish him well.

On the other hand, Dion has been offered a new contract which I’m very pleased about as he is the sort of experience we need round the club, and I’m sure he will be our captain next season. The other player to be offered a new contract is youth player Stephen Dawson, I’ve heard raving reports about this young feller so I can't wait to see him next year.

As for players coming in next year, we already have two in the bag, in the name of Janni Sturm, never heard of the guy before but I head he has been tearing the Slovakian league apart so he should be a good young prospect, the other player in the bag is Hearts defender Patrick Kisnorbo, the same goes with him, haven’t seen him, so I’m hopeful he will be a good signing for next year.

Vinnie Jones - the living legend. He's got a Leeds tatoo on his leg. Which says all that needs to be said.

Ye it was pretty good, even though i had no real affection for the player, or really for Leeds, was still good to see some of my favourites out there: Vinnie Jones, Strachon, Ali Mocoist (however you spell it) Jimmy Floyd H and a whole host of others.

Best moment was when Leeds brought on a player from their Womens team...who scored a top goal and set up another!

Was even better when the crowd starting singing "We've only got 10 men!"

Was good all in all. 37,000+ was a superb attendence.

Ah, Radebe's testimonial. I wish I'd have been able to attend - the cheif has always been a favourite of mine. Along with Philamina Masinga, who joined with him. That man was a machine - can remember listening to the radio as he completely ripped apart the opposition and slotted one in (possibly in the F.A. cup). Then he didn't get a work permit.

How I wept.
