Best one liner in the topic.

I was just saying how it seems getting engaged is the new pokémon (hence the cliché comment)
Fiancé! Gotta catch em' all!
I would like to think that those who can offer good experience are the ones that have been through it. I'm 24 and have been in several relationships. There has always been talk of getting married. Sure you can get engaged but I suppose you dont have to get married straight away some people are engaged for a very long time. Now setting a date for the wedding now that would be a bit too soon. If you just want to get engnaged for now then that's perfectly fine. Good luck to you.
Hmm if Trish were still here I'm sure she would have some good advice. Well anyway good luck to you mate :) I'd see you at the anime convention but I'm not going to any this year. Have a wonderful time though.
I think it is fair to say that many of us here have higher goals or aspirations in life than simply finding a partner and living together/getting married - in fact I'd say that for some of us that situation, at our age, is more akin to a nightmare. To many of us doing that at our age (talking anything from 16-late 20's here) restricts us in terms of freedom and financially. Sure, we see people, go out etc, but mention marriage and we'd run a mile.
Maybe I'm wrong, but that's the impression I get, I certainly know my old Uni mates felt that way and one of them had seen his girlfriend since he was 16.
I've been there myself - I was lucky to have hit the jackpot as it were. I hope you do too.
