lampard is the superior player but not by huge amounts. Not huge basic game quality differences, but lampard just edges it especially as he scores as many goals as many strikers.

But Gerrard wasn't surrounded with 9 other players pulling there weight last season (I leave Owen out of that because he did work; penalties permitting).

You can't say that Lampard made the difference by Chelsea finishing 2nd, but you CAN say that Gerrard made the difference from Liverpool finishing 4th, as opposed to 5th or 6th :)

But you had a squad full of "Superstars" to help him ;)

i genuinely think we would have done significantly worse with out him. The question you have to ask is would chelsea have done better if gerrard had been there last season instead of lampard. and i think they would not have.
