Latest figures from Japan show the DS sales slowing to a crawl, while PSP keeps on pushing ahead. Infact, although DS was launched in Japan before PSP, the hard fact is that now PSP has overtaken the Nintendo DS.

249,000 DS
267,000 PSP
Nintendo need to do some thing fast if they want to stay in the game. In Japan, Nintendo should be able to crush Sony, but it appears they can't, even remembering DS was launched before PSP there.
If the trend is repeated world wide, and Sony PSP continue's to increase it's lead, where will that leave DS? Being pushed into 2nd place world wide is a real possibility now, which would in turn have an effect on developers who want to design for the most used system. Add to that the low number of Nintendo GameCube's, an we have to ask, what is the future for Nintendo?

Facts are facts I guess but I think the DS has been selling pretty respectably.
Truth is that although they're both handhelds, it's perfectly possible that they'll co-exist very much like the PS2 or Xbox.
If anything the PSP sales are a sigh of relief rather than an apparent kicking in the face of the DS.

Yea, but the Hotpoint has a bigger capacity and looks nicer (but the energy efficiency sucks big time).

Sorry but he looks so hungry :( he seems to think selling 43,000 units in a week is bad. When in fact, it isnt. PSP may have sold more the past few weeks but that doesnt mean that developers are gunna say "OH no only x 10 thousand Ds's have sold, lets not sell software for it because that would be silly. Making money is silly right guys? *production team slowly nods*
