The PS2, X-box, etc. and Sony's GSCube (PS3?) mean that games are going to get more realistic. Wicked! I hear you say. But is this a good thing, morally? I'd be interested to know everyones' opinion on the debate.

games are getting more realistic in different terms, if you know what i mean. Well games like shenmue are excellently good lookin gamez and are realistic to real life to a certain degree. the games like pd and Pso look amazingly realistic but have nothing to do with real life what so ever.
So how do we define the word realism? well its hard to say it depends whether you cool smooth looks and stunning gameplay but no sense of real life in it realism or a game that looks ok and plays ok but is a real life kinda of situation game is different, but what would you say.
Well i think Pso is a decent game but not very realistic, but what do you think?

Games are starting to get an excellent sense of realism event if they dont have anything to do with real life but do ooooze with pure genious and we say they are so relistic.
but what is a relistic game now. PSO or a driving game?

well i dont care what it is as long as its decent! (:0

Games getting more and more realistic over the years surely has to be a good thing! It makes you feel as you were actually in the game. Games like MGS make you (maybe just me) feel as if I was in the game.

The same goes with Shenmue. You walk, run, and talk as you would in real life. I don’t want games to get to a stage where it is no different than life because, IMO, it will be rubbish. What’s the point of playing a REAL LIFE game, when you already have a life? I’m sure it will not come to this extreme, for a long time.

There is still room for improvement, and the improvements we won’t be with us sooner than later.

Sure the games will be more realistic and some will het a little too realistic but there will always be some decent fantasy games to bring us back down to earth. (:)
