Anyway, there's much more thigns you can do with power other than add realism.
One of the things I'm looking forward to on the Gamecube is large multiplayer battles. Hopefully without lag or slow down. Th first generation consoles wouldn't have managed that.
You can also do things likeput more character into your games, put more more enemies on the screen at once, use a more complex AI system.
There's all sorts of things you can do with a powerful machine.
wrong idea- i was simply asking a question so
as 2 start a debate and see what ever1's opinion was.
my personal opinion is exactly the same as yours.
i think realistic games r great and games getting more
realistic can only be a good thing.
adults certainly won't do anything stupid,
that is not the issue here. kids on the other hand, as u
said, are impressionable and i think it is the responsibility of the parent to safeguard against the situation mentioned.
plz dont get it twisted.
thanx,
im out

Unfortunatey i do.
My mate watched this thing on telly, and then he...., he then..... ate some marmite.

Sorry, but that's just not possible. The words 'Amercian' and 'humour' do go in a sentence together, unless the words 'lack' and 'of' are in there somewhere as well.
Are you trying to say that if games look more realistic, then they will influence peoples actions, so if games depict violent acts, then people will then do the same?
Are you trying to say that developers should have some kind of conscience, and be wary of what content they have in their games?
I think we really need to give the general public just a little more credit here. I know not of one adult that has done something awful simply because they saw it on TV, in a game, or read it in a book.
When it comes to children, then yes, they can be a little impressional. Here is where it is the duty of the parents to take an interest in their childrens lives. If their children are the kind that are influenced by what they see, then maybe they should take a good look at the games ratings before giving them to their child.
