And to be honest... it'll be quite a fair responce...
All the same...
Sony have decided to go ahead with the PS2.1...
What does this mean for current PS2 owners?
Whats going to happen with the future titles?
I have no idea what the alteration in the spec is... so I'm not sure what the implications are...
Anyone know what the changes are... and what this entails for the PS2 public?

So you never had to buy any add-on to play any N64 games then? Say, ooh, a video RAM add-on because Nintendo didn't put enough in in the first place?
Also, can you people never contribute to a reasonalble discussion without dragging it down to the level of one platform versus another? What makes you all so insecure?
Through all of the forums, 80% of the time, a Nintendo owner has to resort to snide comments about another platform - not just Sony, but any platform. Sometimes Sega fans, but nowhere near as often.
Look through all of the machine-specific forums and you'll see Console X versus Console Y. The significant absence of such topics is in the PlayStation forum, and in the PS2 forum such topics are always started by Nintendo or Sega fans.
I know there are PS2 idiots too, but they seem to be far less in number - particularly on these forums.
Maybe I was wrong. Maybe it isn't the games on Nintendo that have given it the childish image - maybe it's down to the average Ninty owner!
The changes mentioned for the PS2 are potentially far more significant, and would certainly require some kind of official announcement.
One of the changes was were you put the cheat cartridges i can't remember when but they got rid of it for some reason.
So that what the PS2.1 is just a improved PS2 with no glitches and not all PS2 games can be played on it
Personally I'll be treating much of this as nonsense until there's an official announcement with some facts, instead of speculation.
No-one yet knows exactly what the "PS2.1" is.
No-one knows how it will work.
No-one knows exactly what it will do.
No-one knows how much it will cost (if anything - it might be an upgrade of some kind).
